This Easter, Help Us Plant a Forest of 100,000 Trees with Avon Needs Trees

March 2, 2026

Bristol, UK - This Easter, Wake The Tiger is inviting visitors to help protect nature and tackle the climate emergency by creating Lower Chew Forest - a landmark new woodland between Bristol and Bath!

The partnership aims to raise £10,000 to support local nature restoration projects, with Wake The Tiger pledging to match every donation made, doubling the impact for wildlife and woodlands across the region.

Running throughout March and April, Wake The Tiger will support the local charity through online fundraising, with visitors also able to donate in person during the Easter holidays via donation points at Junktion Café Bar.

Funds raised will plant a forest of 100,000 new trees, establish miles of hedgerow, create species-rich grasslands and wetlands, and provide habitats for generations of wildlife.

In addition to fundraising, the Wake The Tiger team has volunteered on-site with Avon Needs Trees, helping plant trees and support habitat restoration at Lower Chew Forest.

Supporting nature close to home

Avon Needs Trees works to create permanent woodland across the Bristol-Avon catchment, one of the most deforested areas in the UK. Woodland cover nationally sits at just 13%, compared with a European average of around 40%, while the local catchment has only 8% remaining.

The charity acquires land to establish forests designed to last for generations, locking up carbon, improving biodiversity, supporting natural flood management, and creating accessible green spaces for local communities. More than 1,000 volunteers have already contributed to planting thousands of young trees across the region, including some of the Wake The Tiger team!

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating positive local impact - connecting creativity, community, and environmental responsibility.

How visitors can support

Visitors to Wake The Tiger during the Easter period will be able to donate as part of their visit, including the option to add a contribution when purchasing tickets online from the beginning of March. All funds raised will go directly towards Avon Needs Trees’ ongoing woodland creation projects.
