THE ROLE
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Runner / Trainee to support the Set Dressing team across 50+ immersive, themed rooms for our London location.
This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to gain experience in immersive environments, theatre, or themed attractions. Working under the Lead Dresser and Assistant Dressers, you will provide essential on-site support during the build, helping bring environments to life while learning the fundamentals of set dressing, props handling, and immersive storytelling.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, creative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set Dressing Support
- Assist the dressing team with the installation and setup of immersive environments.
- Help move, place, and arrange props, furniture, and dressing elements under direction.
- Support the preparation of rooms to ensure they are ready for dressing and install.
- Follow instructions from the Lead Dresser and Assistant Dressers to maintain quality and consistency.
General Runner Duties
- Transport props, materials, tools, and equipment across site as required.
- Support multiple rooms and teams, responding to daily priorities and changing needs.
- Assist with deliveries, unpacking, sorting, and distributing dressing items.
- Maintain clean and organised working areas throughout the build process.
Props & Materials Handling
- Assist in organising and tracking props, dressing items, and basic tools.
- Help with simple tasks such as cleaning, prepping, or assembling dressing elements.
- Report any damage, shortages, or issues to senior team members.
Learning & Development
- Learn on the job about immersive set dressing, spatial storytelling, and guest experience.
- Observe and support experienced team members during installation and problem solving.
- Develop practical skills in handling props, dressing spaces, and working on live builds.
Health & Safety
- Follow all health & safety guidelines while working on site.
- Use equipment and tools safely under supervision.
- Support the team in maintaining a safe working environment, particularly in guest-facing spaces.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Physically capable of manual handling tasks (lifting, moving items, being on feet for long periods).
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable
- Interest in immersive experiences, theatre, events, or creative production.
- Any hands-on experience (set builds, events, art projects, etc.).
- Basic understanding of props, materials, or creative environments.
