Art Competition: Seeds of Imagination

Seeds of Imagination: Wake The Tiger gives lucky winners the chance to bring their artwork to life in the world’s first Amazement Park®

This Easter, win an egg-citing opportunity for all budding artists to design the next art installations to feature in Wake The Tiger.

This Easter break, Wake The Tiger is marking the start of spring with plant pots sprouting around the Dream Factory, each with a growing seedling buried within. Aligned with the four elements of earth, air, fire and water, each of the four planters represents the Four Guilds within the world of Meridia.

Fettlegarm ( EARTH) – This highly adaptable weed produces colourful vines that are useful for weaving & textile-making. Prickly Gloomtrap (AIR) – This thorny succulent’s leaves can be burned as incense to cleanse vibes and alleviate bad moods. Spicy Grassroot (FIRE) – When ground, the beans may be enjoyed as a hot beverage, increasing community productivity & engagement. Crystalily (WATER) – Blooming only in freezing temperatures, the pollen can be used in medicine, and food preservation.

On display for visitors between Wednesday 27 March – Sunday 19 May, the immersive art experience is inviting families to take a peek at the seedlings, and create their own interpretive drawings of what they think they will bloom into.

Drawings must be submitted to Wake The Tiger between Wednesday 27 March – Sunday 14 April, and can be done so via their website here The winners will be announced at the end of April, with a lucky few getting the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their work created into an art installation by the wonderful in-house production team. Winners have the unique opportunity to witness their creations transform into tangible art pieces before their very eyes!

Alongside judge, Luke Mitchell, Founder and Creative Director at Wake The Tiger, they will be joined by George Cook from Avon Wildlife Trust, who will judge the competition and select the designs to be brought to life. George Cook said “I’m here to spread the joy of nature and wildlife so I’m super excited to be asked to connect with Wake The Tiger and bring together our passions for the environment and art.”

As well as bringing their imaginative-interpretation to life, the winners will also receive their names on a plaque and an annual membership to the world-class experience.

As experts in materialising the intangible and unimaginable, Wake The Tiger knows a thing or two about unleashing creativity and so once completed and installed, visitors will be able to come and see the brand new installations until Sunday 14 July.

Founder & Creative Director, Luke Mitchell, at Wake The Tiger, said: “We are super thrilled to invite aspiring artists to unleash their creativity and be part of Wake the Tiger’s immersive world. Our drawing competition offers a unique opportunity for entrants to collaborate with our creative team, turning their visions into reality. The chance to see their artwork come to life within our experience is truly extraordinary and embodies the spirit of community and creativity that defines Wake the Tiger and Bristol at large.”
