THE ROLE
We’re seeking friendly and proactive individuals to join our Sales team at Wake The Tiger - this is a combined role between Box Office and the Curiosity Shop. Successful applicants will be required
to work at both locations.As the first point of contact for our visitors, you’ll play a key role in creating a positive and engaging experience. Responsibilities will include scanning and selling tickets, upselling
memberships and guides and engaging with our visitors in person and over email; providing a helpful, approachable service. Duties include at least one day a week at the Curiosity Shop,helping create a memorable shopping experience for our customers. This combined role is perfect for those looking to gain retail as well as ticketing experience and develop their customer service and merchandising skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver friendly, welcoming, and efficient customer service at all times
- Take a helpful and proactive approach to supporting visitor needs
- Handle visitor concerns with care, escalating issues appropriately when needed
- Answering customer queries in person and via email
- Maintain a clean, organised, and presentable work environment
- Point of contact for visitors with access needs
- Take responsibility for cleanliness of area adjacent to the Box Office
- Manage queues effectively to ensure a smooth visitor experience
- Operate the till to process payments and set up memberships accurately
- Communicate clearly and efficiently with the Duty Manager and Front of House teams
- Show a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the evolving needs of the attraction
- Support emergency evacuation procedures, following the lead of the Duty Manager

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Essential
- Ability to deliver great customer service

- Prior retail experience

Desirable
- 1 year of experience working in a customer service environment
- Till experience within a retail or hospitality environment
- Basic ticketing system knowledge
- Previous cash handling experience
- Experience in upselling and promoting products
- Visual Merchandising Experience
WHAT’S INVOLVED
Team Support:
- Assist the Curiosity Shop and Box Office Managers with daily tasks and operations
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve skills and knowledge
Customer Service:
- Welcome and assist customers with a friendly, professional approach.
- Address basic customer inquiries and provide support in handling feedback or concerns,
referring complex issues to senior staff. - Help maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Inventory Support:
- Assist the Curiosity Shop Manager with inventory management as needed.
- Support stock monitoring by conducting routine stock checks and reporting any
discrepancies. - Keep the stock room organised and assist with restocking items on the shop floor.
Visual Merchandising Support:
- Help maintain visually appealing product displays as guided by management
- Assist with setting up promotional displays and seasonal decorations.
- Ensure displays and spaces are tidy and reflect the brand’s image.
Sales and Customer Engagement:
- Reply to any customer enquiries in a professional manner in person and via email
- Support team efforts to achieve sales targets through helpful customer service.
- Use basic upselling techniques to suggest products and memberships to customers.
- Monitor and maintain stock of popular items to enhance customer satisfaction.
Quality Assurance:
- Assist with ensuring that products on display meet quality standards.
- Report any software problems, customer service enquiries, product defects or concerns
- Support the team during bi-weel;y team meetings with management
Available contracts are 19.5, 24.5 and 22.75 hours per week between Wednesday - Sunday.
