Reflecting on a Night of Solidarity
We recently hosted an unforgettable evening dedicated to the support of Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), a charity committed to the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. The event was a heartfelt convergence of music, education, and community action.
A Sold-Out Event with a Purpose
Our event sold out, and it was a profound and thought-provoking night, thanks to the participation of everyone involved. We are thrilled to announce that together, we raised £14,209.95 for MAP. These funds will directly aid in providing immediate medical assistance to those in dire need and help develop the local healthcare system for the long-term benefit of Palestinian communities.
Music with a Message
The evening’s lineup included musical talents such as Dizraeli, DJ Chris Tofu, Grove, and Laid Blak. Their performances transcended entertainment, resonating with the deep importance of our cause. The music served as a backdrop to an evening of learning and empathy, not as a means for celebration, but as a powerful connector that brought us all closer to the cause.
Voices of Insight and Advocacy
We were honoured to have Ella Saltmarshe, Farooq Siddique, and Sophie Burton share their invaluable perspectives on the crisis. Their talks shed light on the complexities and human impact of the ongoing conflict. Although some of the realities discussed were difficult to hear, they were essential in deepening our understanding of the situation in Gaza.
A Commitment to Action
The event was more than just a fundraiser; it was a call to action. Wake The Tiger and Boomtown Festival came together with a clear message: an immediate ceasefire, the safe return of all hostages, an end to the suffering of innocent Palestinians, and a significant increase in humanitarian relief.
Raffle for Relief
In addition to ticket sales, we held a raffle prize draw where all proceeds were donated to MAP. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who donated prizes and to those who participated. The raffle included tickets to Boomtown Festival, exclusive merchandise, and other unique experiences and items.
Continuing the Momentum
While we celebrate the success of the fundraiser, we remain mindful of the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Gaza. We encourage our community to stay engaged, informed, and compassionate. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
